Hints & Tips for Working with Gingham Fabric

🧵 Cutting & Pattern Matching:

Align the checks carefully when cutting to ensure a seamless finish.
Use pattern weights or clips to keep fabric in place without shifting.

🪡 Sewing Recommendations:

A universal needle (size 80/12) works best for smooth stitching.
For precise edges, use a straight stitch with medium tension.

🌀 Washing & Care Instructions:

Machine wash at 30°C to maintain the vibrancy of the yarn-dyed checks.
Low tumble dry or air dry to prevent shrinkage.
Medium iron setting recommended for crisp, neat fabric.

✂️ Finishing Touches:

To prevent fraying, overlock or zigzag stitch the raw edges before washing.
Add interfacing for structure when making collars, cuffs, or decorative pieces.

Please note that if more than one piece of fabric is ordered it will come as one continuous piece as it is cut from the roll, however the rolls do have a maximum length therefore larger orders may be sent in multiple pieces.
