Hints & Tips for Working with Gingham Fabric

🧵 Cutting & Pattern Matching:

  • Align the 3mm checks carefully for a seamless look.
  • Use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter for precise cutting.

🪡 Sewing Recommendations:

  • Use a universal needle (size 80/12) for smooth stitching.
  • Adjust your stitch length to prevent fabric distortion when sewing small checks.

🌀 Washing & Care Instructions:

  • Machine wash at 30°C for colour longevity.
  • Medium iron setting to maintain a crisp appearance.
  • Dry cleanable, but avoid bleach to preserve fabric quality.

✂️ Finishing Touches:

  • Overlock or zigzag stitch raw edges to prevent fraying.
  • Use light interfacing for structure in collars, cuffs, or accessories.

Please note that if more than one piece of fabric is ordered it will come as one continuous piece as it is cut from the roll, however the rolls do have a maximum length therefore larger orders may be sent in multiple pieces.
