What is Bondaweb?

Bondaweb is a web-like adhesive that is heat-activated, meaning you simply apply it with an iron to fuse materials together. It features adhesive on both sides, allowing you to attach fabric, felt, paper, cardboard, and even wood securely.

How to Use Bondaweb

  1. Prepare Your Materials

    • Cut Bondaweb to the size or shape needed for your project.
    • Place the rough, glue side of the Bondaweb onto the wrong side of the fabric.

  2. Iron to Activate the Adhesive

    • Set your iron to a medium heat (wool setting) without steam.
    • Cover with baking paper or a pressing cloth to protect your fabric.
    • Press for 5-10 seconds, ensuring the glue bonds to the fabric.

  3. Cool & Peel Off the Paper Backing

    • Let it cool slightly, then gently peel away the backing paper to reveal the second adhesive side.

  4. Position & Fuse

    • Place the fabric with the adhesive onto your chosen surface (another fabric, felt, or even wood).
    • Cover with a pressing cloth and press again for 10-15 seconds to secure the bond.

  5. Final Set & Care

    • Allow it to cool completely before handling.
    • Your project is now bonded and ready to be sewn, washed, or decorated!
Tips for Best Results:
✔ Always Test First – Try a small sample to check the bonding strength before full application.
✔ Use a Pressing Cloth – Protect delicate fabrics by covering them while ironing.
✔ Avoid Steam – Too much moisture can affect the adhesive bond.
✔ Layer for Extra Strength – If working on heavyweight materials, apply extra layers of Bondaweb for durability.
✔ Stitch for Extra Security – While Bondaweb provides a strong hold, adding decorative stitches can enhance durability, especially on frequently washed items.
