Product Description
This 7.5oz midweight denim fabric is a versatile and hardwearing choice for dressmaking, crafts and lighter furnishing projects. Made from 100% cotton and woven in a traditional twill construction, it features the classic subtle diagonal ribbing that gives denim its timeless look and durable finish.
Available in Indigo or Black, this quality denim is ideal for creating garments such as jeans, skirts, dresses, shirts, pinafores, jackets and aprons, while also being suitable for bag making, cushions and other lightweight home décor projects. With its 150cm width and practical midweight handle, it offers enough structure for durable makes while still being comfortable to sew and wear.
Denim has a rich textile heritage, originating from the French term serge de Nîmes, which later became known as denim. Loved for its durability, character and classic appearance, it remains one of the most popular fabrics for both fashion and furnishing uses.
Please note that denim dye may fade over time and colour transfer can occur, especially with darker shades. Washing separately before use is strongly recommended.

How To Use & Hints and Tips
Denim is a great choice for a wide range of sewing projects including jeans, dungarees, skirts, jackets, pinafores, bags, aprons and cushion covers. Its midweight structure makes it easier to handle than heavyweight denim while still offering excellent durability.
For best results, pre-wash the fabric before cutting to reduce the risk of colour transfer and shrinkage. Wash denim separately, especially on the first few washes, as dye can bleed onto lighter fabrics. Turn finished garments inside out before washing to help preserve the surface colour. Wash with similar dark colours only.
Avoid storing denim in direct sunlight, under bright lights or in windows, as fading can occur over time. When sewing, use a denim or jeans needle and a slightly longer stitch length for cleaner results over thicker seams. Testing a small piece first is always recommended.
