Our Ponte Roma Fabric C6623 is a high-quality double knit fabric with a smooth handle, comfortable stretch, and excellent versatility. Made from 76% polyester, 19% viscose, and 5% spandex, this fabric is double-sided and reversible, giving it a lovely weight and structure while still offering flexibility and comfort.
At 280gsm, Ponte Roma is ideal for sewing garments that need both shape and stretch. It is perfect for dresses, skirts, leggings, tailored trousers, palazzo pants, loungewear, and other stylish everyday clothing. The knitted construction gives it a soft feel, while the added spandex helps garments move comfortably with the body.
Available in a range of classic and fashionable shades including Black, Camel, Marl Grey, Navy, Purple and Teal, this fabric is a fantastic choice for dressmaking projects that need comfort, durability and a smart finish.

How To Use & Hints and Tips
Ponte Roma is ideal for sewing garments where you want both comfort and structure. Use it for fitted dresses, pencil skirts, leggings, smart trousers, cardigans and lounge sets.
For best results, sew with a ballpoint or stretch needle to avoid damaging the knitted fibres. A small zigzag stitch or stretch stitch works well if sewing on a standard machine, while an overlocker will give a neat professional finish. Because Ponte Roma has a good weight and body, it is excellent for patterns that benefit from a smooth drape without being overly clingy.
Pre-wash your fabric before sewing to help prevent any shrinkage. Press with a medium heat and always test on a small piece first.
