Hints & Tips for Working with Cotton Lawn Fabric:

  • Cutting & Handling:
    • Use sharp fabric scissors or rotary cutter for clean, precise cuts
    • Pin carefully as fabric may shift
  • Sewing Recommendations:
    • Use a universal needle (size 70/10 or 80/12) for delicate stitching
    • Choose fine cotton thread for seams
  • Sewing Tips:
    • Set machine to a small stitch length (around 2mm) for a neat finish
    • Consider French seams or a narrow zigzag stitch for clean edges
  • Washing & Care:
    • Machine wash at 30°C
    • Cool tumble dry and test a small sample before washing for color fastness
  • Ironing:
    • Iron on the reverse side with low heat
    • Use steam to smooth out creases
  • Finishing Edges:
    • Overlock or zigzag stitch raw edges to prevent fraying
