Terms & Conditions
High Velvet is a luxurious, mid-to-heavyweight fabric made from 100% polyester, known for its soft, plush texture and rich, lustrous appearance. Unlike traditional velvets, which may be made from silk or cotton, polyester velvet is durable, wrinkle-resistant, and easy to care for. It has a slightly structured drape, making it a versatile choice for a variety of fashion and home décor projects.
High Velvet is perfect for a range of applications, including:
✔ Soft Furnishings – Ideal for cushions, curtains, and decorative throws.
✔ Dressmaking – Great for structured garments like jackets, skirts, and capes.
✔ Costumes & Evening Wear – Its luxurious sheen makes it a perfect choice for stage costumes, ball gowns, and festive outfits.
✔ Accessories – Can be used for elegant bags, headbands, and scarves.
✔ Home Décor – Excellent for drapes and wall coverings to create a rich, elegant interior.
🔹 Cutting & Handling: Use a rotary cutter or very sharp scissors to avoid fraying. Always cut in the same direction to maintain a uniform nap.
🔹 Sewing Tip: Use a walking foot or a roller foot on your sewing machine to prevent shifting. A longer stitch length (3-3.5mm) works best.
🔹 Pressing & Ironing: Velvet should never be pressed directly with an iron. Instead, steam lightly from the wrong side or use a velvet board to prevent crushing the pile.
🔹 Seam Finishing: Overlock or zigzag stitch the edges to prevent fraying.
🔹 Washing Care: Wash alone on a cool/cold cycle with a gentle detergent. Avoid fabric softeners or bleach. Lay flat or hang to dry—never tumble dry to preserve the pile and sheen.
